About the program

West Virginia University’s Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) is offered 100% online through the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Program Overview

WVU’s fully-online, asynchronous MSEM program enables working professionals to advance their careers without interrupting their employment. It consists of 10 courses (30 credit hours) completed in one year (full-time) or two years (part-time)

Tuition and Fees

Online MSEM tuition is calculated per credit hour based on Statler College rates:

  • In-State (WV resident): $557 (tuition) + $89 (college fee) + $100 (online fee) = $746 per credit hour
  • Out-of-State: $1,564 + $132 + $100 = $1,796 per credit hour
  • Estimated total cost (30 credits): $22,380 in-state or $53,880 out-of-state

Admissions Process

Applications are submitted through the WVU Online portal. Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Official transcripts, résumé, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation
  • International applicants require TOEFL/IELTS scores
  • GRE not required but may be requested

In general, a degree in one of the “hard” science programs is required with at least two years of calculus or equivalent mathematics.
