Dr. Jena Asgarpoor
Dr. Jena Asgarpoor is a Professor of Practice at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and the Director for the Master of Engineering Management Program in the College of Engineering. She received her Ph. D. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Engineering Management, from Texas A&M University in College Station where she had previously earned a B.A. in Political Science (Summa Cum Laude). Prior to UNL, she was a professor at Bellevue University for 26 years, where in 1994 as part of her teaching portfolio she developed and taught the first fully online asynchronous web-based course offered by that institution.
Her interests lie in engineering management, quality management, pedagogy, and assessment of teaching and learning, particularly in the online space. She is active in the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
In recent years, she has served as President of the Council of Engineering Management Academic Leaders (CEMAL), Program Chair and Chair of the Engineering Management Division (EMD) of ASEE, and as President of the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM).

John Bade
Program Director, Professor of Practice, Master of Engineering Management program (MEM) and Master of Project Management program (MPM) at Washington University in St. Louis.
John has 30+ years of experience at The Boeing Company (recently retired). His last role at Boeing was the Vice President of Boeing Defense Saudi Arabia where he served on the Board of Directors for BITG, AAI and the SRSC. Previous to that, John held numerous executive positions where he was responsible for various aspects of Program Management, Business Development, Strategy, etc.
Since joining Boeing in 1988, Bade had worked in a wide variety of leadership positions with increasing responsibility in Engineering, Quality, Supplier Management, Product Support, Program Management and Business Development. Bade had held several international program management assignments working in Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
John holds bachelors and Masters Degrees in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He continued his education at Saint Louis University obtaining his Master of Business Administration and completed his PhD. in Engineering Management at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
John has been teaching evening graduate courses at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Washington University in Saint Louis in Strategic Management, Technology, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Taguchi, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Emerging and Disruptive Technologies and Total Quality Management. He has also taught at AL Faisal University in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. He has been teaching various courses for 25+ years.

Dr. LuAnn Sims Carpenter
Dr. LuAnn Sims Carpenter is a faculty member at Auburn University in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE). She received a PhD and MS from Auburn University in ISE as well as an MS and BS from Georgia Tech. Dr. Carpenter previously spent 17 years working in industry, primarily in computer manufacturing as an engineer and manager. She is currently the Graduate Program Officer for online programs, including the Master of Engineering Management program. Dr. Carpenter is also an ABET commissioner who has made 19 accreditation visits as a volunteer since 2006.

Dr. Luna Magpili
Dr. Magpili has been with Washington State University (WSU) since 2013, where she currently serves as Associate Professor and Director of the Engineering and Technology Management Program. She brings extensive international experience as both an educator and consultant, with a strong focus on global development and risk management.
Before joining WSU, Dr. Magpili worked as a Program Officer for International Relief and Development, managing relief and development projects worldwide. More recently, she served as a Fulbright Specialist at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics (ENTSP) in Cameroon, where she developed and taught courses in supply chain management, project management, and digital e-governance.
In addition to her teaching and research roles, Dr. Magpili is highly engaged in the academic community. She serves as a panel reviewer for NSF programs, conference track chair for the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM), and reviewer for multiple scholarly journals, including Engineering Management Review, PLOS ONE, and ASEE Publications.
Dr. Magpili is a co-author of the book Operational Risk Management, a widely used reference in academic settings, and has contributed a chapter to the book Cybersecurity for Entrepreneurs. In 2023, she was awarded a Spencer Education Grant to develop and update risk management modules in Loss Prevention and Control. Dr. Magpili is currently collaborating with startups on the application of artificial intelligence and analytics to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
